Caregivers ACT Attendance Travel Grant

The Caregivers ACT Attendance Travel Grant aims to help alleviate some of the financial burden of caregiving responsibilities for STP members to attend this year's STP’s in-person Annual Conference on Teaching (ACT)  .

Consistent with our Mission Statement and the Statement on Addressing Systemic Racism and Inequity in STP, we encourage applications from STP members who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Description and Size of Grant

Selected STP members will receive $500 to assist with caregiving costs* related to attending the in-person conference. Caregiving is broadly defined and could include the following expenses:

  • Transportation for a care provider to attend this year's ACT with the STP member and the person who needs care or support (e.g., children, elders, persons with disabilities, or STP members who require caregiving support themselves).
  • Accommodations for a care provider in the city where ACT is located.
  • Caregiving fees (rate charged by care provider for providing care either at the conference or at the STP member’s home).
*Eligible expenses must be related to cost incurred by having a care provider (i.e., the money is intended to cover some of the costs of the care provider, not the general conference costs to the STP member).

To qualify for the grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
