Tips for Using the Job Board

The STP Job Postings forum is a repository for job postings related to the teaching of psychology. Everyone can read the job postings. STP members may post to the board for free. Non-STP members may post to the board for a fee.

Posting a job ad

If you are a member of STP, log into the job board using your STP login email and password. Logging in allows you to post the job for free.

The web address you enter in the "Employer Website" field will be a clickable link. Some people choose to enter the web address for their institution's job ad here.

The job board asks for your institution's address because those searching for a job can filter their search by location.

Upload Employer Logo to replace the gray square on the full listing page with your institution's logo. Uploading a logo is not required, but it will make your ad stand out.

Ideally the job announcement will be the official release from your institution.

"How do you want to receive applications?" Many people choose "Send applicants to another website," and then enter their institution's web address for where applicants can apply. When a job board visitor clicks the Apply button, they will be directed to this website.

You can choose how long you would like this job announcement to be up: 30, 60, or 90 days.

Payment Details page. Enter your name and email address, and click the Submit Payment button. If you are logged in as an STP member, you won't actually pay anything. You can confirm this in the Order Summary on the right where your total is $0.00. This is a benefit of your STP membership.

If you would like your job ad removed before it automatically expires, please contact STP's executive director at stp@teachpsych.org

Looking for a Job

You can search by keyword and/or by location. If you search by location, you can choose how far away from that location you'd like to search.

There are two filters. Industry Type allows you to filter jobs by type of institution or type of job, e.g., Faculty at Public 4-yr Institutions, Department Chair. Employment Type allows you to filter by, say, full-time or part-time.

Disclaimer: The job board is a service of STP. The presence of a job listing is not an implicit endorsement of the institution or department by STP or the STP Executive Committee.
