SPSP Teaching Preconference

Invited and Keynote Speakers:

Nathan DeWall, from Hope College, is best known for his research on self-regulatory behavior. He is also the new co-author of the iconic David Myers Introductory Psychology textbook, the single best-selling intro psych book in the world. We are excited to have Nathan join us and share his reflections on how self-regulation and self-control relate to classroom teaching.

Joshua Correll, from the University of Colorado Boulder, is a well-respected researcher in the area of stereotyping and prejudice. The research paradigm he developed, the Shooter Task, has become one of the most popular and enduring techniques for studying and understanding implicit race biases.

Ryan Howell, of San Francisco State University, will be giving an invited address on the teaching of statistics and research methods courses. As these courses often are assigned to faculty from the social and personality psychology areas, we hope you will find his observations and suggestions useful to your own teaching.
