    We’re hiring! The Department of Psychology at Penn State (main campus) is looking for full-time teaching faculty (non-tenure track, but a pathway that parallels tenure track) to start this fall. We have an amazing department, with over 30 full-time teaching faculty (and outstanding tenure-line faculty as well!). Teaching load is 3 courses per semester.     Assistant Teaching Professor, Department of Psychology, College of the Liberal Arts

    JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    The Department of Psychology at Penn State (http://psych.la.psu.edu/) invites applications for a position as Assistant Teaching Professor, a non-tenure track faculty appointment to begin August 22, 2022. Candidates with a background in developmental, child clinical/psychopathology, and forensic psychology are encouraged to apply. In addition, the successful Candidate would also be able to teach undergraduate research methods courses and possibly also introductory statistics. Candidates should be available for both on-line and classroom teaching assignments. 

    Previous teaching experience and fit to the department’s teaching needs will be a focus of our review. These are full-time positions with a teaching load of three courses per semester during the academic year; summer teaching is negotiable. Ph.D. preferred and at least ABD status required at time of appointment. In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity. 

    The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:  

    - Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check  

    - Pennsylvania Child Abuse History  

    - Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
