The Psychological Science program at the University of Central Missouri (https://www.ucmo.edu/psychology/) seeks to fill a nine-month, tenure-track assistant professor position in Psychology. The position begins August 2022. Successful candidates will provide evidence of excellence in teaching, and the ability and interest to involve undergraduate students in their research as well as to foster student career/professional development.
Applicants must have a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience, Biological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, or related area of Psychology. While advanced ABD candidates will be considered, completion of the doctoral degree is required by the start of the appointment. Applicants should be able to teach Physiological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Sensation & Perception, Research Methods, Statistics, and General Psychology. In addition, the ability to teach additional courses as needed by the program, such as History of Psychology or Orientation to Psychology, as well as training and experience in program evaluation and assessment, are preferred.
Salary and benefits are competitive. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; opportunities to teach during the summer are available. Excellence in teaching, productivity in research, and service to the school, college, and university are required for promotion and tenure.
